TCG Confluence Meeting - 19th March 2019 - Draft Agenda
1/ Welcome and Introductions
2/ TCG and the new democratic vision.
Independence. TCG presents an inclusive non-party-political community platform and will work with all like-minded councillors to forge a consensus on policies and actions.
Listening to and reflecting the voice of the community in all its diversity.
Transparency in producing a Manifesto, reporting back on outcomes, showing both the courage to challenge conventions which discourage public participation and the humility to admit that TCG does not have all the answers.
3/ Voice of existing councillors
Experience of council work: achievements, challenges, obstacles.
Future priorities and realistic objectives.
Potential benefits of working together.
4/ TCG Manifesto
Opportunity to view Manifesto Summary (copies available and key principles/policies
displayed on barn walls) and for existing councillors to put stickers on any policy they empathise with and would value further discussion on.
5/ Breakout groups to hold open forum on most highlighted policies, identify common aims and objectives and how best to achieve them together.
6/ Identify wards where TCG and other councillors can work together to best effect, recognizing that the number of members representing wards can vary widely.
7/ Nominate wards where TCG candidates might think of standing.
Make a list of these and of other councillors to work with.
8/ Practical guidance for prospective candidates on form-filling, etc.
9/ Concluding remarks and thanks.
